A healthy motivational drive is essential for success in any aspect of fitness and life. Trying to achieve any goal without motivation is like trying to drive a car with an empty gas tank. You can possess all of the knowledge on how to reach your goal, but you’ll fail to take action due to a lack of emotional fuel.
Luckily, motivation isn’t difficult to cultivate. It all boils down to the ratio between your perceived cost to perceived benefit. You’ll always be motivated to take action when you feel your habits are worthwhile.
Unfortunately, there are several common habits that can erode your motivation. All of these either increase the cost of your habits or decrease their benefits. Some can do both which makes them particularly toxic for your success.
