Building muscle with calisthenics has always been the focus of my training. Sure functional strength and health are great, but the focus of my training has always been to stimulate muscle growth.
That’s why I take a bit of a different approach to my calisthenics training than most of the other stuff you see out there. I don’t really do any cardio-style high-rep stuff like burpees, nor do I even practice more acrobatic stuff like muscle-ups.
There’s nothing wrong with those exercises, and sure, you can still use them to build muscle; but I prefer a much simpler and more direct approach. Join me for this week’s Q&A podcast where I share more of my insights, regrets, and tips for building muscle with calisthenics.
