I used to be a full-time cardio junkie. Even in college when the university opened a brand new weight room, I was content spending more time on the elliptical and stair machine than I was spending in class.
I had a few good reasons to hit the sweat inducing machines for 1-2 hours each day.
– It helped me burn tons of calories, keeping me lean and light for bike racing season.
– The endurance style of training helped me with my racing.
– I loved burning off loads of stress and exhausting myself until I could barely walk.
Funny how times change. These days I wouldn’t be caught dead doing cardio mostly because I’ve found much better ways to keep my weight in check, improve my performance and blow off stress.
