How Many Sets and Exercises Should You Do? Why Any Single Answer May Be The Wrong One For You.
There’s a lot of advice out there pertaining to how much work you should supposedly do to reach your goals.
- How many sets should you do to grow muscle?
- How long do you have to do cardio to burn fat?
- How many exercises are necessary to build your arms, chest, legs etc?
- How many times per week should you work for a muscle group?
And the list goes on.
These are good questions because it’s natural to know how much you should work to reach your goals. The challenge is, there’s no possible way to know for sure how much you should be doing with definitive certainty.
There are far too many individual variables that can influence how much work you should or can do. Many of those variables are also ever-changing. What might be a perfect amount of sets or exercises for you today may be different from what you need tomorrow.
That’s why I wanted to talk about objective-based training in this week’s episode for the RDP podcast. Through this approach, you’ll learn how to break away from dogmatic exercise strategies so you can dial in the perfect amount of work for you in every workout.
