Training and eating for your body type can make it easier for you to achieve the results you want. On the other hand, losing weight and building muscle can be very difficult if you use methods that don’t work for your type. If you’ve ever felt like a particular diet or workout wasn’t a good fit, there’s a good chance it wasn’t a good fit for how your body works.
While the basic principles of fitness apply to everyone, your body type can influence how you do that.
For example, one body types handle carbohydrates better than other types. Some will do well with heavy lifting while others may do better with lighter loads. While not everyone will perfectly fit an ectomorphic or endomorphic classification, it can be helpful to know if you lean toward one body type or the other.
