I don’t care if I’m burning fat or carbs.
It doesn’t matter if I’m burning fat or carbs in a workout or throughout the day. I honestly just don’t care, and there are several reasons why.
- Burning fat and carbs is very beneficial for your health.
- Burning both helps lose weight and manage body fat levels.
- You must be proficient in burning carbs and fat to perform at your best.
- Your body and metabolic functions have evolved to utilize fat and carbs in various situations. It’s not like one is preferable for your health and metabolic function.
If anything, trying to burn primarily fat or carbs is going to hold you back. Even if you can fully burn just one and not the other, then that would potentially compromise your health, performance, and weight management.
I know it sounds promising to be “fat adapted,” but I honestly believe it’s more trouble than it’s worth. So I just don’t worry about what I’m burning. I just hop on my mountain bike or jump on the pull-up bar and crank up the metabolic furnace, no matter what I’m burning.
