Just going to throw it out there;Pull ups are cool and awesome.
Being that they are such, they also make anyone who does them cool and awesome.
That’s why they are in nearly every movie training montage. They are an impressive thing to whiteness and automatically convey strength and power upon those who do them.
A large reason for their lofty status is simply because few people can do them.
If you were to run into a stranger on the street, there would be less than a 50/50 chance that they could do a single pull up. So right off the bat, being able to do them at all places you into a pretty elite crowd.
But it doesn’t stop there.
The numbers fall sharply off when you consider the number of people who can do more than 3. They fall off even faster for more than 5, 10 and 20.
Lastly, the pull up transfers such awesome status because even most of the folks who can do them seldom make them a habit. They would rather stick to pull down machines or other rowing devices.
So if you can do pull ups and practice them on any regular basis them you my friend are awesome. You laugh in the face of an exercise that makes other’s turn and run with their tail between their legs.
If you can’t do a pull up or don’t make them part of your routine then you have a tremendous opportunity in front of you to increase your awsome-ness.
You have the opportunity to chose to work on your pull ups and become stronger at them.
Simply making the choice to do that makes you ultra special. Almost everyone who can’t do a pull up will not take on the challenge to become proficient at them. So by grabbing that bar and struggling for your first reps you’re automatically standing side by side with those who have that something special. So by being able to do them or not, the pull up makes you super cool and awesome.
Hold your head high and walk tall. You are part of a very special minority.
